About Michael
Growing up in Oklahoma, I was like most young boys. I had dreams of playing football at the University of Oklahoma and making a pro career with the Dallas Cowboys. However, once I realized there wouldn’t be too many openings for a 5-foot-8 offensive lineman in the NFL, I had to look for alternatives. Reporter. Writer. Photojournalist. These are some of the different titles I’ve picked up instead. But the one moniker that encompasses every aspect of the more than three-decade journey I’ve been on is storyteller. Whether I’m covering the NBA Finals or photographing the people of Portugal, I am telling a story.
Whether I’m crafting a branding profile, covering a protest march or authoring my newest travel book, the story comes first.
